Eagle County Public Health and Environment is updating the county's Public Health Order regarding COVID-19. In alignment with the county's Transition Trail Map, we move to the "Blue" Phase starting today. In summary, Blue Phase means: face coverings are strongly recommended in public areas people need to keep six feet of distance between non- household members 50 people or less can gather with social distancing there can be dinein service at restaurants and bars at a reduced capacity with social distancing there can be short-term lodging at a reduced capacity outdoor recreation areas and businesses will be open with social distancing All community members are strongly encouraged to read the entire order at ecemergency.org. CLARIFICATION ON ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IN PUBLIC Starting Friday, May 29 The target date to begin allowing consumption of alcohol in public places in Vail has been set for Friday, May 29. This follows the Vail Town Council approval of an emergency ordinance that authorizes the Town Manager to establish such locations. Consumption will be strictly limited to designated areas. Until then, the Vail Police Department is reminding guests and residents that public consumption of alcohol in Vail remains prohibited on any street, alley, sidewalk, public building or parking lot in the town, or within any vehicle in those areas per Town Code 6-3C-4.
