Motion preservation decreases biomechanical stresses on the adjacent segment, reducing the risk of reoperation. Prior to moving to the Vail Valley, Dr. Braxton was the chief of neurosurgery at San Antonio Military Medical Center, our nation's highest volume and highest acuity military treatment facility. Dr. Braxton is a veteran of the Afghanistan War and served in Operation Enduring Freedom. Minimally invasive spine surgery involves smailer incisions and decreased tissue disruption leading to faster recovery.
